There has been a whole lotta hoopla over Apple's decision to go with glossy screens on its new MacBook line of laptop computers.

Originally only an option on the several-thousand-dollar 17-inch flagship Pro model, the "matte" (or in Apple-speak, "Antiglare") display option has returned on the 15-inch model...for an extra $50.

Want 1,440 by 900 pixels and a LED backlight with a matte finish? It'll cost you, and it also means you'll have a silver bezel rather than the edge-to-edge glass style of the glossy Pro models.

Would you spend an extra $50 for a matte finish, or is Apple getting away with highway robbery?
