Let's take a look at the latest Apple rumors that have been making the rounds in recent days:

iPhone 5: A redesign?

On Monday, a story from Boy Genius Report claimed that not only would the iPhone 5 make its appearance in August, but it would do so with a radical new design. This was contrary to previous speculation that Apple was aiming to change very little with their next phone. The new design, sources claim, would be in a teardrop-shaped design, a big change from the iPhone 4's format. Thisismynext even went as far as to create a rendering of the design.

...Or maybe not

A story from Bloomberg today, however, contradicts that report. According to its sources, the iPhone 5 will "closely resemble the iPhone 4", which doesn't make it sound like Apple is going to change much with the device. Bloomberg also claims that the iPhone 5 will feature a 8-megapixel camera, which is a sizable upgrade over the iPhone 4's 5-megapixel offering. Further speculation says that the iPhone 5 will also come with a A5 dual-core processor, which has been rumored for a while now. Bloomberg pegs the phone's release for September.

The next iPad will come with a Retina display

Bloomberg's sources also say that the iPad 3 will come with a screen whose resolution is a third higher than that of the iPad 2. Previous rumors suggested that the next iPad's resolution would be five to six times higher than that of the current iPad, which did seem a bit high.

An Apple-branded television

Elsewhere in Apple rumor land is speculation that Apple is working on its own televisions. Reports say that the display would integrate with FaceTime and iTunes, but likely the most compelling features will likely come from the displays' possibilities for games. Imagine piping your iPad games directly to a television, a la the Wii U, for example.

As far as a release date goes, some speculation points to the fourth quarter of this year, though some analysts say thats a bit optimistic.
