Despite worries last week that the second-gen Apple TV might be delayed, it looks the petite black box is good to go.

Announced on September 1 with the promise that the handheld-sized device would ship within four weeks, Apple seems to be true to its word as customers have already started receiving shipping notices.

As a refresher, the latest version of the set-top box comes with 802.11n Wi-Fi, allowing for streaming iTunes content from your computer as well as rentals of TV shows and movies. Apple TV is available at Apple's online store for $99 plus free shipping.

Has anyone who ordered the new Apple TV received any news about their shipments?
