What rumor should we start today off with? Well, let’s start with the one that Asus is expected to unveil their Eee Pad tablet at Computex 2010.

The real news? It’s should be in the sub-$500 range.

According to DigiTimes, the new Asus PC tablet will be powered by a Tegra processor, set to be manufactured by Pegatron Technology. But perhaps we won’t know anything for sure until the computer expo in Taipei this June.

I’m yet to be sold on the whole tablet business without finding a place in my life where it would really be of use. While we might see Apple’s next week, and HP’s was less than wow-worthy. Five months or so might be too long to wait.

given most large organisations will all of a sudden find they own onenote shortly, i can see a real market for 'second laptop' devices for meetings, portability and the like. these devices are fantastic as a writing pad replacement especially when combined with sharepoint or the public notebook sharing capabilities. think about how much IP is wasted through misplaced or unshared notes .. and sitting in front of your notebook tapping on keys isn't great meeting etiquette.
I bought a T91 for this purpose, and whilst it would suck as a notebook replacement, it's fantastic as a notepad replacement.

Pricing on tablets must be the same as netbooks, or they will fail - just like expensive TabletPCs have generally failed in the consumer market.

Why do you think netbooks are so popular (price!)

Take a MSI Wind U160 netbook ($350) and repackage it as a tablet: remove the keyboard and hinge, add a touchscreen.
