Bloomberg: Apple is ready to sell white iPhone 4

By | April 14, 2011, 11:03am PDT

Summary: Just when this was all but dead and forgotten, it turns out that Apple might actually be ready to sell that illusive white version of the iPhone 4.

Just when this was all but dead and forgotten, it turns out that Apple might actually be ready to sell that illusive white version of the iPhone 4.

According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino-based giant “will start selling a white version of its iPhone 4 in the next few weeks,” citing “three people with knowledge of the plans.” It’s possible that Apple could (re-)introduce this version at Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 in June in place of a new model - although that’s definitely more than a few weeks away.

This device has been delayed for 10 months after being announced in June along side the existing AT&T version of the iPhone 4 in black. It was pushed back to the end of July 2010, then the end of 2010, and finally we haven’t heard a peep from Apple since.

Signs of an impending release have been spotted here and there, but nothing turned out to be concrete.

One has to ask why Apple is even bothering at this point. I’d be much more interested to see the next generation of the iPhone or some other product than the same old thing in a second color option.

Has anyone actually waited this long for the iPhone 4 in white? Or if you’re considering to buy an iPhone 4 right now, will you wait for the white one to pop up in stores? Honestly, I won’t believe it until I see it.

Paging Dr. Freud...
@archerjoe: Apple really failed here.
Years of speculation over this? Does anyone actually want one of these? Looks very toy like. Maybe something young school girls would like.

Meh. It's about time to start talking about the 5th generation, I think Apple should have had the white 4G ready at the Verizon release.

I wouldn't be interested in white anyway, when I'm eligible for a new phone in October, I'll be looking at a black iPhone5 or whatever the best 'Droid AT&T has to offer. Unless RIM unleashes some kind of bomb, which I'm 99.9% sure they won't.
