Boxee Box getting Vudu streaming platform in November

Boxee Box’s November 10 launch date is nearly upon us, and another feature for the set-top box has been announced: Vudu streaming access.

Actually, anyone who has the Boxee platform on a PC, Linux or Mac computer (and soon D-Link’s Boxee Box), can take advantage of streaming from Vudu’s library of Hollywood and Indie films in 1080p HD quality with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound. Vudu joins several other members of Boxee’s streaming line up, including EZTakes, Indie Movies Online, MUBI and Openfilm.

Obtaining and installing the software for this is free. The rental price isn’t bad either, starting at $2 for 2 night rentals.

Only the Boxee Box will get the HD stream. Max and Window users will only get the SD stream. Not sure what Linux user will be able to get.
