Acer on Wednesday introduced the $299 Gateway LT21 netbook, powered by Intel’s new Atom N450 processor.

The new Gateway LT21 is a 10-inch model that manages 1024 by 600-pixel resolution. It features a six-cell battery for up to 10 hours of battery life, the company says.

Aside from 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity, the LT21’s innards are standard netbook territory. The Lt21 offers basic multitouch touchpad gestures and a larger keyboard than previous Gateway models.

If price is most important, this netbook does the trick. The Gateway LT21 will be come in red, black and white with a subtle wave pattern on the lid. It will be available in January and start at $299.
