Comcast, Time Warner announce deal for 'TV Everywhere' video streaming

By | February 1, 2011, 3:05pm PST

Summary: Comcast has inked a deal with Time Warner to make an “unprecedented amount” of television programming available for streaming from nearly anywhere the Comcast empire touches.

Comcast has inked a deal with Time Warner to make an “unprecedented amount” of television programming available for streaming from nearly anywhere the Comcast empire touches.

To be clear, that’s content produced by channels that Time Warner owns, such as TNT, TBS, CNN, HLN, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

Comcast subscribers will be able to access these new offerings (i.e. Conan, The Closer and House of Payne) on XfinityTV.com (pretty soon actually), Turner-owned websites, Comcast On Demand and mobile apps for the iPad, iPhone and Android-based devices later this year.

Hopefully Comcast doesn’t take its sweet time with the mobile access as this is a pretty nifty and convenient option - especially for those who might be stuck in airports due to snow and other travel hazards.

I wanted to comment on the above comment. This is true about the TV everywhere option. Xfinity and even TWC are only able to provide TV everywhere within the home. This is not going to give you the True TV everywhere that you are looking for. You can now find some great info here at http://besttvforme.com/ for some great info. DISH is where I work as well I am a subscriber too.
How much does it cost?

If ANYTHING over my current cable rate I pay, then it's a rip off, and I will find ways to illegally gain access to the content.

On the Internet old dinosaurs like Comcast and TW

are not important. There will be more TV companies that will stream content.

Don't give them your money, look for alternatives and they wont be able to push you around and take your hard earned cash.

If you follow them, you are only sheep and deserve to be taken advantage off.

If it costs more than $8 a month and doesn't carry The Comedy Channel, they can keep it.
@yobtaf
Would that be $8 per month in addition to your cable tv bill or $8 per month period for anyone, anywhere, with or without cable tv from Comcast?

I'd rather eat dirt than give Comcast more money.
Well if its free then thats awesome. if they are charging any kind of $ for it then its w/e. Unless its like $2 a month.
Why pay anything extra with Xfinity when DISH Network has a TV everywhere solution now? If this sounds interesting, you may want to know about Sling technology used with DISH Network. With Sling you can truly take your TV everywhere as long as you have broadband access. You can stream live or recorded content from your satellite receiver wherever you go! As an employee of DISH I can't begin to tell you how great it is. More info available at DISH Network?s official website.
Hmm, interesting. So Comcast now has a video streaming service, that can compete with Netflix, and our illustrious "goober"ment can't figure out that there needs to be Net Neutrality.
