Dell Adamo XPS heat-sensing latch in action; is it worth it?

Earlier this month, I wrote that Dell's 9.99mm thin Adamo XPS ultrathin premium laptop would have a heat-sensing latch that would open the computer by gliding your finger over a strip on the edge of its lid.

That BusinessWeek story wasn't exactly correct. It won't automatically open. But it will unlock.

A strange security measure indeed -- you can only open it with the rub of your warm finger. I can't imagine this system will sell very well in the winter in Chicago, know what I mean?

The Adamo XPS will be officially announced in November and will harbor an Intel ULV chip in its rounded, narrow innards.
