Dell rolls out professional desktops, all-in-one PC and mobile workstations

Dell is unloading a ton of new computer announcements today. For the more stationary set, we have a quartet of OptiPlex PCs and a desktop workstation. A pair of Precision mobile workstations rounds out the introductions.

First up we have the OptiPlex 390, 790 and 990 (pictured above) plus an all-in-one solution with second-generation Intel Core and vPro processor options. There's also some room for flexibility as the 390 has three form factor options whereas the 790 and 990 each have four. These towers can be filled with many customizable specs, including up to 1TB of hard drive space, a removable Blu-ray drive, Intel HD Graphics 2000, up to 16GB of RAM and Windows 7/Vista OS options.

The Dell Precision T1600 entry-level workstation (pictured right) steps things up with second-generation Core and Xeon processors, AMD and NVIDIA GPU options, and support for pro 2D and entry-level 3D applications. Ideal for anyone working with AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER and similar design and drafting applications, the T1600 can handle four monitors, up to 16GB of memory, and dual 2TB 3.5-inch SATA hard drives. This Precision workstation also sports a toolless chassis for easy repairs.

The T1600 is joined by the M6600 and M4600 mobile workstations, but details on those will be revealed later this year.

Pricing for the Dell OptiPlex series starts at $650, while the Dell Precision T1600 workstation has a base price of $840. Availability for all of these computers will be announced in the coming weeks.
