Dell has released a vague timeline of sorts for the global release of the Dell Streak, starting across the pond with O2 UK in early June.

Formerly known as the Mini 5, the 5-inch touchscreen tablet computer will belong to O2 exclusively in the United Kingdom, with a roll-out across Europe to follow. The U.S. finishes last with a commercial debut “later this summer.”

If you want a review on the Android-based tablet that could go head-to-head the iPad (or at least the HP Slate), here’s a rundown:

  • 5-inch capacitive multi-touch WVGA screen (800 x 480 resolution)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor
  • Adobe Flash 10.1 support
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • 3G
  • microSD slot (up to 32GB)
  • 5-megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash
  • Front-facing VGA camera
  • Removable 1,530mAh cell battery
  • Available in four shades (black, blue, pink and red) or choice from several custom Dell Design Studio patterns

probably an interesting option for everyone in the market for a pmp. but it's more of an offering along the line of the archos 5" and 7" devices. the ipad is in another category because of it's screen size. let's wait for the 10" version to compare the two.
