Five wacky, maybe tempting iPod/iPhone accessories

A lot of businesses have started just to sell accessories for the iPod and the iPhone. Some of them are good, some of them are useless, and some of them are just plain weird. Here are five accessories, ranging from useful to unusual, and decide for yourself any of them are worth the price.

A lot of businesses have started just to sell accessories for the iPod and the iPhone. Some of them are good, some of them are useless, and some of them are just plain weird. Here are five accessories, ranging from useful to unusual, and decide for yourself any of them are worth the price.

1. Gameboy iPod/iPhone Case: If for some reason you don't want to appear conformist and admit you have an iPhone or iPod Classic, you can cover it up with this classic Gameboy felt case. Available right now on Etsy (a great online marketplace for original products), it fits the iPod Classic, Touch and iPhone. It's $25, but its unique and handmade, and you're sure to get a bunch of comments on it.

2. Quirky Beamer iPhone Cases: As if your iPhone wasn't already spectacular enough already, there's a case to give it even more shine. The Beamer iPhone case comes with a built-in LED bright light, powered by a battery inside the case. It also comes in a range of fun, neon and flashy colors. But with an MSRP of $38, this case just doesn't seem worth the price.

3. Giant Earbud Speakers: Apple's signature white earbuds have been designed to be simple, classic and easy to store. Not these. Urban Outfitters has a pair of giant earbud speakers, which will connect not just to your iPod, but your computer as well. Its dimensions are 4 x 7 x 3-inches, and you can get them for $40. Better be some good sound.

4. iPhone Etre Touchy Gloves: Targeted towards iPhone users (but really for anyone with a touchscreen device), British-retailer Etre is playing on the fact that it can be annoying (and very painful sometimes) to take off your gloves when using an iPhone. So their Touchy Gloves have fabric cut off the thumb and index finger spots for your convenient. But its not a convenient price at $32.59. Better Idea? Buy a pair of $1 gloves from Walgreens and cut off the tips yourself.

5. KNG FUNKit DJ Animated Speaker System for iPod: You sort of need to see it to believe it. This little robot/droid/whatever comes with a DJ and speaker system, using your iPod as it pleases. The little robot even dances and scratches to your music. Compatible editions are third and fourth-gen, iPod video, iPod photo, iPod mini, and iPod nano. It's actually quite cute (and definitely an alternative from the traditional iPod plug-in speaker system), and it's been heavily reduced in price.
