It’s barely been a week since the Obama administration announced that it had killed Osama bin Laden in a not-so-secret Pakistan compound. But in The Death of Osama bin Laden, gamers already have their chance to kill the terrorist leader all over again.
The title, developed by Kuma Games as a part of its Kuma\War series, recreates the operation that ended bin Laden’s life. While the developers say the game’s environment is a faithful replication of bin Laden’s compound, the game’s scenario offers a number of significant variations from the official White House narrative of the event. The player’s character goes in alone, for example, eventually killing an armed and solitary bin Laden. There is also no sign of the bin Laden family members also reported to be present during the operation.
The Death of Osama bin Laden also offers gamers the ability to play as as one of the terrorist leader’s defenders, a role that the game randomly assign to players. Solely a multiplayer experience The Death of Osama bin Laden may not be entirely accurate, but it does give gamers a taste of one of the most significant military operations in recent memory.
