Google Nexus S 4G available from Best Buy May 8

Need a Gingerbread (Android 2.3) smartphone, stat? We've just received word that Best Buy and BestBuy.com will start selling the Google Nexus S 4G on May 8--just in time for Mother's Day. (Of course, you can also visit Sprint stores to get this phone as Sprint is the exclusive carrier.)

Here are the specs of the Nexus S 4G:

1 GHz Samsung Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor
4 inch WVGA (480×800) Super AMOLED contoured display
3G/4G connectivity, through WiMAX
16GB integrated flash memory
5 megapixel rear camera and VGA front facing camera
801.11 b/g/n WiFi
Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
Near field communication (NFC)
Assisted GPS
1500 mAh battery
Dimensions of 4.88 x 2.48 x 0.44 inches and 4.62 ounces

The handset will retail for $199.99 with new two-year activation on Sprint. Will you make the switch to Sprint for the Nexus S 4G?

Yes i already know this since last month. old news. NOPE will not get Nexus S 4G because it lacks one very important feature and that is NO MICRO SD SLOT. 16 gig internal is not enought to add thousands of music or other files like videos. Also it does not have 8 mega pixel camera has most new phones will have 8 mg pixel and 5 mg pixel is just to standard. also NO Dual Core processor??? also cant record HD 720p has why waste on this phone when these features will be outdated in another 6 months from now. I am going to get Sprint EVO 3D which has all latest features. or wait for few more months for windows phone 7 have some of these features.

The only good news on this Nexus S phone is it will get latest android updates over the air first.

Again i rather get HTC EVO 3D 4G phone this June.

@ipadsucks First off, like the name. Secondly, I'm the kind of consumer who has the dedicated camera and dedicated media player (not iCrap) so this phone is exactly what I'm looking for. There's a reason Quadrant still shows the top of the heap to be a Nexus 2.2+ and here's a hint; SenseUI and MotoBlur don't exist on pure Google phones.

Will I? I already did. Getting off work early on Sunday to get the phone. If there's one thing I've realized in my little Android tour, it's that there's no substitute for the pure Google experience. ROM hackers can try to bring it to phones like the DINC but I'll take stability and support kthx.
