Summary: Anyone who owns a Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone and also happens to be clumsy, good news! Corning has announced that its tough Gorilla Glass has been incorporated into the design.

Anyone who owns a Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone and also happens to be clumsy, good news! Corning has announced that its tough Gorilla Glass has been incorporated into the design.

In case you’ve forgotten, the Galaxy S series in the U.S. consists of the VibrantFascinateCaptivate, and Epic 4G.

Gorilla Glass is a very durable, scratch-resistant, and thin sheet of glass. Most recently, it has been seen on the Dell Streak, and it is on track to be a $1 billion business by 2011.

When added to that 4-inch Super AMOLED display seen on the Galaxy S, it can’t prevent the screen from being ruined by absolutely all harm, but it can definitely tumble around without taking on much damage. For a butterfingers like myself, this is quite useful.

Give credit where credit is due.
@thofts Samsung Wave has Gorilla Glass and was out in March, so who copied who? lol... In fact Samsung's Galaxy S was launched in other countries before iPhone4 and Samsung makes over 50% of the cost of the parts in iPhone4. Even though it's with inferior cheaper parts for the other half of it, than what's in Galaxy Series phones! ...and BTW... Samsung is the largest phone and parts manufacturer on the whole planet!
