Hewlett-Packard has unveiled a couple of new educational slates, but they’re definitely not like other tablets out on the market at the moment.
Intended to be classroom tools for teachers working with students in pre-Kindergarten all the way to the end of high school, the HP Digital Learning Suite is comprised of several different hardware and software solutions.
The two highlights are the Digital Sketch (pictured above) and the Pocket Whiteboard (pictured right).
The Digital Sketch is lightweight, compact and wireless tablet that connects to the teacher’s computer to allow control of the lesson plan while walking around the classroom, working hand-in-hand with HP Scrapbook software.
The Pocket Whiteboard makes things a bit more communal for the entire classroom as it can turn any surface into up to 10 feet of interactive learning space, allowing students to drag and drop content, set up shared meeting boards (perhaps useful for student groups and clubs), and more.
Pricing varies by the volume ordered and other factors. The Pocket Whiteboard will debut first this month, and the Digital Sketch will be ready to ship in March.
