Hewlett-Packard has unveiled the HP Mini 1103, a no-frills and sleek netbook for business road warriors.

Dubbed as the "perfect travel companion," the 2.78-pound HP netbook is being pushed towards small businesses. That weight can fluctuate depending on whether or not you pick a 3-cell or 6-cell battery, so decide if you want to work on the road for a long time or save some pressure on your shoulder from the laptop bag.

Here's a peek at what is inside the Mini 1103:

  • 10.1-inch LED backlit WSVGA display
  • Intel Atom N455 and N475 processor options
  • Wi-Fi
  • Integrated HP Mobile Broadband (optional)
  • Bluetooth
  • Pre-loaded with HP QuickSync and HP QuickWeb
  • 93% full-size keyboard

Available in classic black, the HP Mini 1103 starts at $299.

@mhpembe Just follow the links. You do know how to follow the link, don't you, Steve? You just put your cursor over the link... and click.

And it's not on sale yet, "Coming Soon" HP says. Whatever that means.

@mhpembe <br>I just checked at the HP website. It says 1024x600, which, in my opinion, is lower than expected for something promoted as a business model. It seems to come in different configurations, with the most interesting one being the OS: either Windows 7 Starter or SUSE Linux Enterprise 11.

  • $300 Pricepoint is Crowded - Favorites?

Which maker has the best keyboard and multitouch pad? The computing strength / battery life of these small machines are roughly comparable at the $300 pricepoint.

For me, it's about the interface. Which is most readily use-able and has best screen brightness in the pack?

My son's first PC, Acer One 532h, is a really decent value but the keyboard while spacious, has totally flat keys that give no sense of center so you don't know you're off-center until your at the edge of any key.

Votes for Best / Most use-able interface in the Pinetrail netbook league?

The LiNKS give that it will come with 2 GB ram (1330Mhz), only one slot, and Goodie 7200 HD from 120 GB up to320??
The faster proc goes at 1.83 Ghz (is this possibly dual core? -dreamer) and not noted is what the price points are for the faster proc and bigger HD. As usual for biz machines, the entry level is likely to be a sluggard in SOME important respect - lets hope they don't price this too high.

In the "auto spammed msg" I noted that faster speed 1.83 proc and 7200 HD will be avail at sizes 120 GB up to (i think) 320 GB.
I think it was deemed SPAM 'cause i put some of this stuff in the "subject" line.. Mortal sin.

  • Business?

Just plain vanilla. What makes this a 'business' device? Does it have a TPM, maybe?
