HTC is finally going by its own moniker in China after going under the brand name “Dopod” for years.

Given that HTC is a major player in the global smartphone market now, the Taiwan-based brand name is far recognizable and has more potential in China than before.

But not all of the smartphones we know and love will go by the same product names over there. Sure, there’s the HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire, but now they’ve also got the HTC Tianxi (possibly a renamed HTC HD2) and HTC Tianyi. All of them use the HTC Sense interface.

HTC will be teaming up with China Mobile to promote the newly-branded smartphones in the market.
