HTC has decided to bring the HTC Wildfire smartphone to the North America, adding access to the HTC Sense experience to top it off.

The Android 2.1-based Wildfire was previously only prevalent in this part of the world if it was unlocked (and presumably bought elsewhere), yet it wasn't compatible with 3G networks here. HTC must have fixed that as the release definitely cites 3G connectivity as as selling point.

Other useful features on this smartphone include the 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, Wi-Fi support, a 3.2-inch TFT LCD touch screen, FM radio and MP3 player, and GPS.

The revamped HTCSense.com service was recently unveiled along side the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z smartphones, both of which are not available in the U.S. yet.

Set to drop with "multiple North American carriers" during the fourth quarter of 2010, pricing still hasn't been announced yet. CNET has previously described this model as "budget-friendly," so hopefully that is still the case.
