Huawei announces Vision smartphone, it's Nexus S clone

Summary: Huawei's Nexus S-inspired smartphone takes 3D in a different direction with its a somewhat-gimmicky custom 3D interface.

The first thing you are likely to notice about Huawei's new Vision phone is how much it looks like Samsung's Nexus S. Same rounded edges, same four buttons below the screen, same general feel. But Nexus S the Vision is not, because Huawei designed the phone with something special: it's own custom 3D UI running on top of Android 2.3.

Of course,  the term "3D" in this case should be used lightly, as the visuals don't pop out of the screen a la the EVO 3D. Rather, Huawei designed the interface so that users can easily view and access the phone's programs and features. So it's mostly a gimmick.

As for hardware, the Vision runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon, making it, in Qualcomm's latest change, an S1 device. The device a pleasantly thin .39 inches at its thinnest point and a light .27 pounds. Huawei will sell the device with a trio of back cover color options - silver, rose gold, and charcoal

The Vision will be available in September, though Huawei hasn't dropped very many details besides that.

  • Of course it is clone

No surprise. Huawei first cloned cisco technology (copied source code), now trying to clone smart phone.

Oh so by saying "custom 3D UI", what you really mean was a licensed version of SPB Shell 3D?
