Lenovo 11.6-in. IdeaPad U150 ultraportable available for $699

Summary: Lenovo's "dazzling" IdeaPad U150 is now shipping for $699.

Lenovo's IdeaPad U150, which I called "dazzling" in a previous post, is now shipping for $699.

At that price, the system offers an Intel Pentium dual-core processor (SU4100; 1.30GHz), 3GB of DDR3 (1066MHz) memory, 250GB of storage, Intel X4500 integrated graphics and an 11.6-inch display capable of 1366 by 768 pixel resolution.

(You can bump the internal hardware specs to an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.30GHz processor, 4GB RAM and a 320GB HDD for $849.)

The laptop weights about 3 lbs. and is 0.75 inches thick. It comes preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium.

It's available on Lenovo's website.

  • Would be perfect if it didn't use X4500 graphics...

It's a shame these "thin and lights" get saddled with such a crap graphics core. With a better graphics processor, these would be zippy little machines. Anyone who has seen the huge difference ION makes on an Atom machine knows what I mean. Perhaps NVIDIA will create a graphics core for use with these "SU" series CPUs, too.
