Just as promised, the LG G2x smartphone is available now for purchase with T-Mobile USA online only.

First unveiled at CTIA Wireless last month, the 4G-ready handheld retails for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with the signing of a new two-year service agreement. If you want to get one in stores, you'll have to wait until April 20th.

Sure, it only has Froyo for now, but a Gingerbread update has been promised. There are plenty of other nifty features too, including up to 1080p HD video capture, an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, DLNA support and HDMI connectivity. This is also T-Mobile's first smartphone offering a dual-core mobile processor (NVIDIA's Tegra 2, to be exact).

Will you be buying an LG G2x?

How long does the battery last? I have a regular G2, and it's great except for battery life. I typically get about 7-8 hours out of it with moderate use, and I always run out of juice if I use it often during the day. Add in a dual core processor and it's just gotta suck more electrons.

The dual core processor is actually quite efficient. The biggest draw on battery is not usually the processor its the screen. I plan on getting rid of my T-Mobile Galaxy S 4G for this phone. With the addition of juice defender to my phone I have gotten as much as 16 hours off of a full charge. Having a 1650mAH battery doesn't hurt. I don't have any battery life complaints with my Galaxy. I don't expect the LG to be quite as good due to its 1,500mAH battery but with the addition of Juice Defender I would be surprised if you couldn't at least rock 10-11 hours of use on a charge.
