While Litl is in the midst of readying their set-top box for a release this year, they’ve made a major adjustment to the pricing of their Webbook.

Part of the Webbook’s charm or problem (depending on how you look at things) is the unique design. Users can flip the display almost completely backwards in order to prop the notebook up to be used as a digital stand-alone display or photo frame. The Webbook also runs on Litl’s own operating system with the purpose of being an ultra-portable entertainment device, specifically gaming and streaming TV programming.

Despite being a versatile device (both laptop and entertainment device with HDMI connection), this 12.1-laptop obviously didn’t do well with a hefty price tag of $699 (not including taxes or shipping). The $399 MSRP does seem more reasonable, but maybe a bit too high still. Even though versatility is often a good thing when it comes to computers, maybe this device has too many facets and should focus on one niche to gain popularity.
