Major Samsung news to be announced in August?

Samsung's Galaxy S series smartphones have already started to drop in the United States, including today's launch of the Samsung Vibrant with T-Mobile. While that was the big announcement back in June, it looks like something else is headed our way from Samsung in August.
According to a save the date e-mail, Samsung is holding a press event on Thursday, August 5 at Noon EDT in New York City. Details are beyond sparse - except for the tidbit, "Samsung is about to transform memory and storage products."
We could be looking at a new external hard drive line or maybe new flash solutions to follow the 32GB microSD card.

Desktop RAM (8GB or 16GB on 1 dimm?)
New SSD lineup
SD chip --your suggestion makes sense

But, the Galaxy S won't generate
