Microsoft has just announced this morning that its Games for Windows Marketplace will be opening up to the public on November 15.

Basically a games-on-demand online store, Games for Windows will be open to anyone with a Windows Live ID (i.e. Windows Live, Xbox LIVE, Zune account, etc.).

At least 100 titles will be available at launch time. That includes hits like Grand Theft Auto III and Fable: The Lost Chapters. But that catalog should expand to encompass Microsoft franchises such as Halo and Flight Simulator, as well as games from plenty of other developers.

Microsoft promises "ultra-fast downloads" (without citing any example speeds), not to mention some discounts abound. Payments can be made via credit card or Microsoft Points.
