Mophie unveils Juice Pack Air for iPhone 4

There’s a new member of Mophie’s Juice Pack line, and this time it is the Juice Pack Air rechargeable battery case for the iPhone 4.

It’s almost hard to see in the photo above as it nearly seamlessly blends with the iPhone 4 itself. But it will surely seem larger in your hand or pocket. The hard-shell case shouldn’t interfere with reception - it might actually help by covering up that antenna.

But the most important asset of this accessory is the battery life, which provides up to 36 hours extra on audio playback, 12 hours extra on 2G/Edge and talk time, nine hours extra on video playback, and finally six hours of additional 3G time.

The Juice Pack Air for the iPhone 4 is available now for $79.99. Surely expensive for a case, but if you plan to travel often and are frequently away from a power source, this might be the way to go.

I had the previous version (for the iPhone 3G) and, while traveling, was great - use most of the time on airplane to watch my selection of movies instead of the usual chick flicks provided by the airline). What always amazed me is how long Mophie can hold the charge without degrading. At one time I had the juice pack in my briefcase for 3 months w/o use and when I checked the charge it was still 100%! Ordered last week this version of Mophie for my iPhone 4. Cant wait to get it.
