MSI unleashes GX780 gaming laptop with SteelSeries keyboard

MSI has yet another gaming laptop that will soon be ready for the world, and the GX780 should turn at least a few heads with that colorful SteelSeries keyboard.

Gaming enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to with this machine, besides its 30-color, LED-backlit keyboard. Users will get an all-around gaming experience with a mixture of Dynaudio and THX TruStudio Pro audio technologies along with NVIDIA's GeForce GT 555M discrete graphics card pumping power and graphics into the 17-inch full HD display.

Other noteworthy specs on the GX780 include:

Intel Core i7-2630QM 2GHz quad-core processor
Windows 7 Ultimate/Professional/Home Premium
Up to 16GB of DDR3 memory
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR
Gigabit Ethernet
HD webcam
Media card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC/MS/MS PRO/xD)
9-Cell Li-Ion battery
Connectivity: Two USB 3.0 ports, Three USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, HDMI, VGA

I want.

But could I ever reasonably afford it?

Still, I have to say, they've really packed some great gear into this laptop. I think the keyboard is a sweet touch, as pro keyboards are typically missing in laptops.

  If I remember right, I think MSI usually has pretty reasonable prices. But this laptop is geared toward gamers, so who knows what the markup will be

There hasn't been any official announcement on price or availability for the GX780 yet. We will update this post when more details are out.

Hmm

Video hardware is kind of wimpy for it to be a 'gaming' box. MSI's laptop offerings are always lackluster.

Paraphrasing what someone yelled at a Federal Reserve Press Conference where Mr. Bernake and Mr. Dudley tried to "sell" all US citizen that raising the price of commodities it's not a big deal because one should consider that today we can buy an iPad2 for the same price of an iPad1: "I can't eat an MSI GX780!"
