For those of us who are widescreen monitor-averse, never fear: the standard-aspect ratio is still alive and kicking.

NEC on Wednesday introduced the 19-inch MultiSync EA109M, intended for business, government and education users.

Despite only a 1,280 by 1,024-pixel resolution, the display offers 250 nits of brightness, a 900:1 contrast ratio, five millisecond response time and 4-way ergonomic stand.

It’s about as lively as a navy sack suit in Washington, D.C.

The display will retail for $259.

My father likes to use low resolutions to make everything nice and big but with the large wide screens, setting them to 1024x768 distorts the image and makes it fuzzy. I'm hoping on large standard ratio screens this with won't happen.
