Summary: Netflix has become available on yet another home entertainment service. This time it is on Panasonic 2010 Viera Cast-enabled HDTVs and Blu-ray players.

Netflix joins a growing list of useful services popping up on the IPTV service, including Skype, YouTube and Pandora. There’s no extra fee on Panasonic’s part. You just have to subscribe to Netflix first.

Cool news - any word if they'll be adding Netflix to VieraCast via a firmware update to earlier BD players?

  • How about older models?
Will this apply to the 1 and 2 year old Viera plasma sets? These already are capable of receiving Youtube, Facebook, etc. Maybe just a software upgrade via FiOS?

This is really a great news considering most homes today already have internet-ready TV sets in them. But what if you want to enjoy that 1080p movie streaming but your TV, Blu-ray player, and wireless router are in separate rooms in the house? Don't worry, you can still enjoy your movie streaming with the help of Netgear's Universal WiFi Internet Adapter. This WiFi adapter is compatible with most internet-ready devices such as TVs, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, and more. You can also use it to connect notebooks, wireless printers, and other networked home theater devices.
