That figure “exceeds expectations” for B&N - although we don’t know exactly what that is relative too in terms of time span and overall sales. Some of the most popular digital glossies have been Us Weekly, Cosmopolitan, National Geographic, Maxim, O, the Oprah MagazineFood Network Magazine, and Shape. Top-selling newspapers include USA TODAYThe New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

You might remember that I bought the Wi-Fi-only, grayscale Nook on Black Friday. That ended up going to my mother as a Christmas gift as I bought the Nook Color for myself - mainly for the reason of downloading and viewing magazines. I wasn’t planning on picking up any digital subscriptions, but I have to admit that the ease of buying from the NOOKnewsstand led to some more monthlies for myself.

Do you have a Nook Color? And if so, have you bought a digital subscription?

I've had my Nook Color for about a week now. I think it's a great device. I think the NC does a great job with the periodicals. Between switching to a horizontal view, pinch-zoom, flick-scrolling and Article View the NC easily re-defines the way I want to read magazines. Unfortunately, there's only 100 magazines to choose from in the B&N NC news stand. I hope that more will become available in time . . .
