Android users have been waiting a long time for Netflix support. But thanks to PlayOn's new mobile app, they won't have to wait until Qualcomm's new Snapdragon chips ship next year.
The mobile app (compatible with Android 2.2 and higher) uses Adobe Flash and a connected PC to stream media content via 3G and Wi-Fi. Some of the many, many source options include Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video On Demand, TBS, CNN, MTV, MLB, Adult Swim and Comedy Central.
The app itself is free to download from the Android Market now. However, access to the PlayOn Premium library costs $39.99 for the first year and $19.99 for each year thereafter. New users can get a 14-day free trial too.

Well, that counts me out. My Android phone isn't eligible for upgrade and I'm stuck on 2.1. I'll never buy another Android phone again.

What type of phone do you have? Almost any android phone can be upgraded to 2.2 with a custom rom. Ex. HTC Eris. Check out xda developers. They are just an awesome crew. Google search for your phone and you'll get it.
