Research In Motion dropped two new goodies for developers over at Adobe Max today: the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR and a PlayBook simulator.

Built "from the metal up" to run Adobe AIR 2.5 and Flash Player 10.1, the SDK also boasts support for the WebKit browser, 1080p HD content playback, multi-touch gestures, working with the integrated cameras and accelerometer, and much more.

Adobe AIR developers can start working on those apps now, but they won't be able to submit anything to the BlackBerry App World until the end of the year. Until then, developers can also preview their work for the BlackBerry Tablet OS in the new PlayBook simulator.

Both items, available in beta mode, can be downloaded immediately for free now.
