TOPICS: Hardware, Mobility

Roku has announced its latest streamer: the Roku LT.

Ten bucks cheaper than the Roku 2 HD, the Roku LT will sell for $50, half the price the AppleTV. The device does away with Bluetooth and SD Card support but still offers 720p video. And while its purple hue may not mesh with every home theater set up, the Roku LT is as compact as anything Roku has released.

With the addition of the LT, Roku is also adding HBO Go streaming to its products. The service will join Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, Pandora and the 300 other channels Roku offers.

Roku's latest box drops this November.

  • I guess they don't want to sell the product

Purple? Really? This is not a product that your average teenage girl would be attracted to. Whom ever though that making it purple was a good idea should no longer have a job.
  • Perfect for kids bedroom

That is if they also market some cutie skins for about $10 each. Without any mode higher than 720p, not likely to be anywhere else in a typical home.
