Roku is beefing up its sports channel line-up with the addition of NHL GameCenter Live to be streamed in full HD quality.

NHL GameCenter Live subscribers will be able to watch up to 40 live, out-of-market games per week as well as catch up on all current season games on demand in the 2010 archive 48 hours after their completion. That archive also includes 12-minute recaps and game highlights.

Furthermore, viewers can access the NHL Vault to view classic games from the 1960s to last year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The new NHL channel is coming soon to the Roku Channel Store for no additional charge. If you don't have a Roku but are interested in getting one, pricing starts at $59.99 for the Roku HD that streams 720p HD video. Higher-end options include the Roku XD ($79.99) and XDS ($99.99) for 1080p HD support via HDMI.

[UPDATE: Owners of Sony's PlayStation 3 will also be able to get access to NHL GameCenter Live thanks to the debut of a new app today. However, it will cost $9.99.]
