Samsung has outed yet another device under the "Galaxy" umbrella, but don't expect this one to be exactly on par with the Galaxy S smartphone series.
The Galaxy Pro was introduced today at the Samsung SEA Forum in Singapore. Pricing and a launch plan for this Android 2.2-based handset weren't revealed just yet, but here are some of the specs that have been announced so far:
- 2.8-inch touch screen
- QWERTY keypad
- 800MHz processor
- TouchWiz user interface
- 3-megapixel autofocus camera
- Wi-Fi
- Social Hub Premium
Looks like a decent enough option for the feature phone category. For a closer look at the Samsung Galaxy Pro, check out the video below:

Is this new trend to call basic-type of phones "Pro" smartphones?

Galaxy Pro feature phone
It is still strange that "Pro" is worse than Galaxy without "Pro"

Ah, I see; thanks.
wow

Galaxy "PRO"? YUCK !!!
I will never buy a phone without the "Swype-To-Type" for silent typing. It's WAY faster, way more comfortable, and leaves the screen usable for other things when you're not typing characters. Here, the dumb-as* keyboard takes up half the space. (And that's not good.)
BTW, I *own* a Samsung Galaxy - the vastly superior Galaxy-S model.
