Seagate introduces GoFlex Home for household network storage

Seagate has added yet another network storage solution to its arsenal. This time it’s the GoFlex Home, which can be accessed by any computer on a given network in the same household via Wi-Fi.

The set-up appears relatively simple on paper. A user just needs to connect the GoFlex Home to the wireless router. From there, the storage device can be accessed by other Wi-Fi enabled devices on the same network, whether they be Mac or PC computers and even smartphones. You can also set up a maximum of three computers to be automatically backed up on schedule.

The GoFlex Home sits on a NAS dock, which hosts an additional USB 2.0 port. Seagate suggests using this with either a printer on the same network or connecting to another external hard drive.

Thankfully, the GoFlex Home boxes aren’t really overpriced. Buyers have two options: $159.99 for 1TB or $229.99 for 2TB.
