Bad news for Xperia X10 series smartphone owners. Sony Ericsson has pushed back that eagerly-awaited Android 2.1 update.
Originally expected to drop in the third quarter of this year, we're now looking at a roll-out to begin at the end of October. Apparently the delay is due to some technical issues, adding more features and whatnot.
Some of what we should be able to expect include HD video recording and multiple customizable home screens on the X10. The X10 mini and X10 mini pro will be getting Bluetooth, auto-syncing with Facebook and new backup functions, among other things.
If you're wondering why the X10 series is only getting Android 2.1 and not Froyo, it is expected that this will be the last major OS update for the collection.

The 3.0 is three-four months from the release and yet a new phone cannot get an older than old system. Great!
