Summary: Before there was the iPod, there was the Walkman. Sony has impressively managed to keep this brand alive, and now there is a new member to the collection: the NWZ-E350 series with video and MP3 playback.

Before there was the iPod, there was the Walkman. Sony has impressively managed to keep this brand alive, and now there is a new member to the collection: the NWZ-E350 series with video and MP3 playback.

The NWZ-E350 is available in either 4GB and 8GB capacities with three external shades to choose from: black, red and blue. The internal battery life allows for a staggering 50 hours of audio playback and 10 hours of video. The only supported video file type is WMV, but users can listen to MP3, WMA, AAC and linear PCM formats.

Available in September, the 4GB will cost $70, while the 8GB is surprisingly only a tad bit more for $80. I think I’d spring the extra 10 bucks.
