Sony unveils PlayStation 3 Slim clad in classic white

Summary: Sony Japan has gotten official with the latest version of the PlayStation 3 Slim, which will be available in “classic white” starting on July 29.

Sony Japan has gotten official with the latest version of the PlayStation 3 Slim, which will be available in “classic white” starting on July 29.

The white PS3 Slim (also known by the code name “CECH-2500″) will include a 160GB hard drive and be priced at ¥29,980 ($341). Sony is also releasing a 320GB version of the PS3 Slim for ¥34,980 ($398), but that one will only be available in basic black.

Unfortunately, like most cool things, it looks like this snow-capped PS3 Slim will only be available in Japan at first. No word on when we’ll see it on the other side of the Pacific.
