Spotted: Mysterious tiny screen with Apple copyright

By | July 11, 2010, 7:16am PDT

Summary: Here’s a good mystery store to ponder during a summer weekend. Images have recently surfaced of a 3 cm x 3 cm touchscreen LCD display with a very distinct Apple 2009 copyright stamp.

Here’s a good mystery store to ponder during a summer weekend. Images have recently surfaced of a 3 cm x 3 cm touchscreen LCD display with a very distinct Apple 2009 copyright stamp.

Spotted first by Apple.pro, everyone is buzzing because no one seems to know for which future Apple product the display is intended.

Most fingers are pointing towards something related to the iPod (especially the iPod Shuffle), and there’s even speculation about an “iWatch.” I doubt that Apple would choose to go down the timepiece route right now, but they’ve pushed out weirder products in the past.

Any ideas as to what this tiny screen might be used with?

How about it's just a prototype or proof of concept for some other product. There's really just no telling.
Assuming it's actually a screen, it makes me think of a digital camera's screen display.

How about an IRemote for a new Apple TV box?

Isn't copyright for creative works like novels and music? You're talking about patents, right?

How do we know it's even intended for a future product?
Seems like a planned info leak to generate buzz for a future product. Best guess. .. I have to agree that it could be related to a future iPod shuffle component.
iMbored the friendly device that makes you look really cool. wink

Am I missing something, or is so small I can't see it?
could this be a prototype from apple's solar panel screen which they applied for copyright's a few years back? I remember the idea was to integrate solar panel's into the back's of ipods or behind the front screen, this could mean a complete re-design of the ipod line so a new screen of this size might be what we will see in the future.

Watching apples ripen past the point they're palatable seems to be a sport enjoyed by many, but why? Are they perhaps watching for the worms to chew their way out?
Another Apple product for Steve Jobs to tell you how to hold and what your can do with it so Apple fans to waste their money on it.
