Sprint's Kyocera Echo dual-screen smartphone now available
Unveiled back in February, the Echo sports a pair of 3.5-inch WVGA touch screens and closes like a clamshell with a super copper alloy pivot hinge. Users can run different apps on each display or make them work together tablet-style as seen in the image above. The displays form a 4.7-inch combined workspace, which isn't far off from the 5-inch Dell Streak. However, that one has been dubbed as a large smartphone anyway, so maybe the Echo will be the perfect compromise.
Other useful nitty-gritty details include Android 2.2 (Froyo), 3G, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with Flash, 720p HD video recording, and it supports corporate and personal email. The Echo can also double as a Wi-Fi hotspot that serves up to five connected devices. However, there's only 1GB of onboard storage space, but an 8GB microSD card is included. That memory card slot supports up to 32GB total.
The Kyocera Echo is available in Sprint stores and online for $199.99 with the signing of a two-year service agreement.
