  • like the galaxy.. it literally a just big blown up phone..
he's the problem.. copy pasted from my comment in the Galaxy story..

Android OS has not been changed in anyway to utilize the larger screens of tablets.. it's the exact same OS that runs on android phones just blown up to double size.. c'mon guys that's incredibly stupid and lame. and the apps that run on it are phone apps just blown up to double size.. does anyone else not see this as being incredibly lame??

until google get off their butts and makes the changes to android like apple has done to iOS for iPad (added multiple scroll panels, toolbars, floating panels etc) that let these device take advantage of tablets larger screens and apps are developed that take advantage of these OS improvement these thing are going to remain pretty useless..

giant, blown up phones that can't fit in your pocket, with giant blown up phone apps, with big giant blown up buttons.. does anyone else not recognize that utile google does their thing these things are pretty much ridiculous and useless?? c'mon.. this is just idiotic!

so your concern is just a software one? Apple Ios is just software. Nice thing is software can be upgraded.

I love Android on my phone, would not trade it for any apple. Would not hurt me one bit to see the same Android OS on a bigger platform with better specs because Android is the real deal and would just make it that much better.
Life does have its way of moving forward, so with Android 3.0 in the works, it is just simply a ota upgrade. Android and it hardware makers are a little late to the ballgame, that only helped the ipad after its lauch, but when the tablets running Android start rolling out with the upgraded software, then we will start seeing some competition which is only good for us.

  • but why would anyone buy now??
@brad1000 - by the time android 3 comes out... these things will be cheaper, faster, lighter etc.. as i said.. it's idiotic to buy this now with out the appropriate software to run on it that lets you benefit from this thing having a bigger screen.. to me that's just dumb!

The device is set to roll out at the end of the year, the same time frame that gingerbread is due out. Getting buzz going is a classic marketing tool. Just like your typical Apple flavor.
