Now that the iPhone 4S has been out for nearly a week, perhaps your iPhone 4 is starting to feel dated sans Siri, a faster processor and an 8-megapixel camera.

With resale value of the iPhone 4 on the decline due to the number of iPhone 4s flooding the market, you need to act fast if you’re serious about trading in your used phone for cash after all.

Gazelle, for example, was offering up to $250 for a used 32 GB iPhone 4 back on October 4, but has dropped to $212 (if in like-new condition) or just $162 (good condition) today.

Luckily for you, NextWorth is guaranteeing $200 for either the 16 or 32 GB iPhone 4 from AT&T in gently used condition, but this offer won’t last beyond October 24.

The locked-in quote for your iPhone 4 will be valid for 21 days, which means you will be able to receive your new iPhone 4S (assuming you order it this week) before you have to send your iPhone 4 to NextWorth for good. Of course, the exact value of your used iPhone is determined by its condition, and this rate is only true for iPhone 4s in “in good working condition with no heavy scratches or cracks,” according to its press release.

To get started, simply visit NextWorth.com, answer a few questions about the condition of your iPhone 4 (as well as other used gear you want to get rid of), mail your item(s) to NextWorth for testing and payment. Shipping your iPhone 4 to NextWorth is free, and you will get to choose between receiving cash or a pre-loaded gift card.

Still wary of sending your used gadgets to a faraway website? NextWorth is partnered with over 1,490 Target locations across the country (and the J & R by City Hall in New York City), so you can get your iPhone 4 assessed in-person and potentially walk out with a Target-branded electronics trade-in card in your pocket. If you miss this brief window to trade up your iPhone 4 to the 4S, you might as well wait till the iPhone 5 is released before cashing in on your iPhone 4.

WHY

Thats dumb, you can sell it on Ebay for close to $350...
@Hasam1991 Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, WRONG.

Selling on Amazon is far superior to selling on eBay. No possibility of being scammed, due to the buyer paying up front, much MUCH lower percentages are deducted from your revenue, and you get direct-to-bank deposits instead of mucking about with Paypal. Not to mention that Amazon reaches hundreds of millions of customers in a simple, easy to understand format.

For example, I sold my 32GB iPhone 4 on Amazon for $326.50. I got $300 of that, which I used to get a 64GB iPhone 4S for under $100.

Amazon only takes an 8% commission, whereas on eBay, you lose 15% in commission, plus about another 1% in listing fees, then 3-4% of your total sans commission in Paypal (an eBay subsidiary) fees. Say you're selling an iPhone 4 32GB for $350 like you said.

Amazon takes a flat 8%, leaving you with about $328 at the end, plus whatever the buyer paid for shipping.

eBay takes first a 15% commission. Already, you're down to $297.50. Then, take another 1% for listing fees (which Amazon doesn't have). You're down to $294.53. Then, Paypal transfer fees of anywhere from 3-4% (let's say 3.5%), bringing you down to a final profit of only $284.22. You lost almost $70 in fees alone. Guess what? You still have to pay shipping on eBay. Amazon buyers pay for your shipping.

Also, you have near immediate turnaround times on Amazon with popular products such as iPhones. My iPhone 4 was sold in JUST UNDER SIX HOURS ON AMAZON, a week after the 4S was released. I sold my previous iPhone 3G 8GB on Amazon for $295 within an hour of getting my iPhone 4. Forty minutes of that was driving home from the Apple store, and another five was setting up the listing.

eBay? You have a mandatory wait of at least 24 hours for an auction to end, or hope you get lucky and someone clicks Buy It Now. But wait, Buy It Now is ANOTHER LISTING FEE.

Selling on eBay has too many drawbacks and fees (not to mention it's easy to be scammed) for me to be able to condone it. Amazon has drastically less fees, total safety for both buyers and sellers, and about ten times the market penetration.

You can trade in your old iphone anywhere these days, or you can compare the enitre UK market at http://www.sellmyoldmobiles.com
I checked out nextworth and a bunch of other reviewed tradein sites. I went with tradeinspot.com, Traded my wives broken 3gs 16gb for $92 something while nextworth offered me $15. Pretty big difference, now im thinking of trading in my Iphone 4 and nextworth is giving me $155 for fair condition fully working, while tradeinspot.com gives $200 and $3 for a box. I would do ebay, but I hate selling anything on there, so many issues.
