It’s Christmas in July for those of you eagerly awaiting the HTC Evo 4G in white because the new version of this popular smartphone is popping up in stores early. Anyone holding out for the iPhone 4 in white can keep waiting.

The white Evo 4G was originally expected to arrive on July 11, but it is already being spotted on shelves at some Best Buy locations. The electronics giant is the exclusive retailer for this version. There’s no explanation for the early release, but maybe HTC just wants to beat Apple to the punch by getting its product out there in advance.

Of course, still no word on when we’ll ever officially see the white iPhone 4 in stores or available for ordering online.

@frgough or maybe they ran out of black cases from selling so many of those and switched over early?
