Zune Inflight Radio booked on United Airlines

By | June 4, 2010, 2:22am PDT

Summary: United Airlines is sprucing up the flight experience with the addition of the Zune Inflight Radio service with 21 new playlists of various beats to enjoy.

While Apple brings its iPad to the friendly skies in Australia, Microsoft is installing itself on a larger carrier.

United Airlines is sprucing up the flight experience with the addition of the Zune Inflight Radio service with 21 new playlists of various beats to enjoy.

The audio content will be free, but do note that the Zune service will be in the form of a radio station only. Don’t be hunting around middle seat looking for an actual Zune player (pictured above).

It seems like a simple enough partnership, but maybe it will lead to some more tech-friendly enhancements down the line - like expanding in-flight Wi-Fi to all domestic flights instead of just a few select routes.
