It seems as though Gmail Mobile went through a serious update within the last day. The previous mobile version was quite ugly and pretty much makes you want to stay away. The new version is true to the spirit of Gmail with an intuitive interface and a nice clean layout.

Gmail Mobile was updated today

This comes the same day Google announced the iPhone version of Google Calendar. It looks like Google is getting deeper and deeper into developing applications that belong on mobile devices -- it's too bad data plans, at least in Canada, will run you about $100 a month.

  • Gmail simply owns

I love gmail. The UI is just so nice and everything is so simple. Heck i have my own web server and I still use gmail hosting just cause gmail is so nice.

The mobile is by far the best. You can open docs u wouldnt otherwise be able to open, .doc, .rtf, etc.

  • Canadian Data Packages

Yes the incredibly expensive data packages in Canada
(that $100 doesn't even give you a lot of data) and lack
of any unlimited packages are a real barrier to entry in
this country. I'm hoping that Apple's iPhone will finally
force Rogers to come out with an unlimited plan which
will force the other two big operators (Bell and Telus)
    to follow suit.

It's strange that a phone manufacturer will be the one
that will revolutionize the data plans. But I'm thankful
to them for doing it just as they are forcing the record
labels to hold on to reasonable flat rate pricing.

Thanks Apple for fighting for the consumer!!
