Though it's not much different from the original version, Google has released a new version of Froyo. FRF72 is the latest version -- but you probably won't be getting it OTA for a while yet.

If you want to jump the gun and install it yourself, feel free. It's downloadable from Google's servers, and easily installable using the following instructions:

1. Download the new firmware using this link. 2. Plug in your Nexus One, and turn on the USB storage. Copy the update file to your sd card and rename it to "update.zip" 3. Turn off your phone 4. While holding the "volume down" button, turn your phone back on 5. Once you are in, use your volume keys to select "recovery", then hit the power button to select it 6. You will see an exclamation mark icon and a green Android -- press power, and volume up at the same time. You shoul see a menu with an item that says "Apply sdcard:update.zip". If nothing happens, try this step again, and again, until it works. 7. select the "apply sdcard:update.zip" option using your track ball. Click the trackball to select it. 8. Click "reboot system now" once you see it -- congratulations, you are done!

I haven't seen any problems posted regarding the upgrade process -- so you are pretty safe as long as you follow the instructions carefully. Of course, if you choose to do the update, you do it at your own risk.

Note that you must have Froyo installed before you can install this version -- if you still need Froyo, you can find similar installation instructions online.

I can't really see any difference between this new version and the older one, but if you are able to spot anything, let us know in the Talk Back!
