Mubarak "falls" into coma

Summary: Apparently, deposed Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak "fell into a coma" a few days after giving his resignation speech

Here's a quick update on what is the ever-bizarre Egyptian situation. Apparently, deposed Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak "fell into a coma" a few days after giving his resignation speech, as reported by the Al Arabiya News Channel.

This is the stuff of Tom Clancy novels, and now, apparently real life. Back in March, he had surgery for an inflamed gall bladder, and the report says he fainted twice while preparing his final speech.

Now, this could just be the case of a man on in years, undergoing tremendous stress, and that stress getting to him. On the other hand, if you're more of a fan of Clancy-style conspiracy theories, it could be Mubarak was "pushed" into a coma.

Let me be clear: I'm am categorically not saying that's what happened. Just, you know. The timing of it.

What's even more bizarre is that this story is on ZDnet of all places.

@BR999 Actually, it's because we've done a ton of coverage about the Egypt situation, which first showed up on our radar because of the Internet blackout there. This article is here mostly to be completionist about what's going on.

@BR999 This IS ZDNet Government. I was rather glad of the article-I haven't had time to listen to news lately and wouldn't have heard of this otherwise. Quite an interesting twist.

    • Want to wake him up???

Take away his billions and tell him all his money is going back to the people of Egypt... He will wake immediately (if he is even in a coma to begin with)...

  • Exactly...

The terrorist state of the USA put him there and now they took him out. So much for people power. Soon the dictatorial USA will instigate a new flavor to the old formula and repackage it as free and democratic. Long live corporatism!

So, if you're categorically not saying it, why say it?

    • Say, WHAT?

@guywayne ,You'd make a lousey lawyer. could-have's, if's, but's and maybe's are qualifyers which remove from the speaker all responsibility for what he has or is going to say. I use them all the time when I'm arguing with my girlfriend. That way I can always say, "I didn't say that, I said MAYBE that!"
