Wiki Collaboration Meets Click to Call

Real-time meets wiki meets click to call at PBWorks. The hosted collaboration company just added PBVoice - a new click-to-call feature called that aims to provide instant conference calling to any member of the wiki group.

It's a great example of how static communications, like Wikis, are colliding with real time communications, like VoIP. With PBVoice, Wiki participants setup conference calls by simply clicking on profiles to select desired participants.  If mid-conversation they need the input of another member of the team, the user can simply clicks on the profile to bring that person into the call.

PBVoice also extends the notion of a Wiki to the voice space. The conference calls can be recorded for later reference and stored on the wiki itself. It's a great solution for tracking commitments and for keeping people who couldn't make the call well informed.

So what if a member of the team is out of the office at the time the call is placed?  No worries.  Calls can be answered via office phone or the almighty iPhone, so the conversation can be as mobile as you are.

On top of the two hundred minutes included with a PBworks subscription, users can choose to purchase 300 minutes per month, nationwide, for five dollars or 2000 minutes for twenty dollars per month.
