Yesterday you might have read that an early Milestone 1 build of Windows 8 was leaked and made its way to the usual download locations. You might be interested in grabbing yourself a copy so you could live on the cutting edge and take the new OS for a spin. My advice - Don’t bother!
Check out the Windows 8 Milestone 1 Build 7850 gallery.
OK, so why am I telling you not to bother? Because the Milestone 1 build is old and buggy and doesn’t really represent the latest builds coming out from Microsoft. This build is dated 10th September 2010 and has technically expired.
On top of that, the whole build is devoid of any specific Windows 8 branding, so it’s also boring to look at!
What surprises me more than anything is that Microsoft managed to keep this build (and later builds) under such tight wraps that this build has expired before it was leaked.
So basically, unless you’re bored, it’s not worth downloading.
Note: For the record, the leaked file is called 6.1.7850.0.winmain_win8m1.100922-1508_x86fre_client-enterprise_en-us.iso and is 2.45 GB/2,637,101,056 bytes.
